VMware Automation Engineer Tech Lead
The Engineer Tech Lead (Automation) position will be part of the Automation Engineering department in the Information Technology division.
The Engineer Tech Lead (Automation) will contribute towards creating IT automation solutions. In this role, you will be developing automation solutions for providing self service capabilities to simplify IT. The candidate should work with the Architecture, Development groups, Engineering, and Operations to establish standards, best practices and automation infrastructure solutions.
As an Automation expert, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining and continually improving orchestrated workflows to automate IT processes throughout the enterprise. Work closely with Middleware, Database and compute, Security, network operations, data center team and engineering groups to create automation solutions. Automation Engineering is all about simplifying process, as we build automation solutions and partner with our development, Operations, Engineering and Architecture teams to deliver self-servicing portals.
Develop and lead automation solutions.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand project objectives, gather automation requirements, design automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable automation solutions.
Define and implement efficient end-to-end provisioning Automation solutions.
Serves as a subject matter expert for automation and orchestration
Supports the existing Automation Portals, provisioning scripts. Identify the automation orchestration related opportunities throughout the organization
Independently contributes to automation solutions including hardware platforms, services, and operation systems.
Work with Java development team for Self-service Portals.
Provide Architecture solution to develop Self Service Portal and Infrastructure automation.
Create Automation solutions using either of VMware technologies (vRA/vRO), Cloud (Azure, AWS) Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss and SOA/OSB.
Role will be accountable for working multiple internal departments to in delivering enterprise automation solutions.
Work with development teams for develops Infrastructure web applications using COTS products or JSP, Servlet and XML.
Conduct POCs to demo new ideas and help solidify technical direction.
Work with internal as well as external resources to achieve project goals.
Work in a collaborative development environment, providing assistance & technical guidance to less experienced team members
Typically has 8-10 years related experience
College Degree or equivalent work experience
Ability to provide automation solutions by working with automation team members. Experience in working in agile environment with a large group of developers preferably.
Ability to quickly develop automation solutions and workflows using one or more of the following:
VRealize Automation/Vrealize Orchestration
Excellent coding and GUI skills
Excellent Scripting skills (Example: Shell Scripts or BladeLogic)
Knowledge in Ansible, chef, puppet other similar tools
Experience in Cloud based technologies including Azure and AWS is a plus
Knowledge in VMWare technologies, Docker, DevOps, SDDC and Artificial Intelligence.
Development of VRealize Automation (VRA), VCloud air, SharePoint, Industry Cloud automation orchestration tools is a plus
Experience and knowledge in creating Blueprints, publishing catalogs, creating and configuring VRO/workflows, vRO configurations/integration with external systems/3rd party tools such as Infoblox ServiceNow, checkpoint TAM, Sailpoint, CyberArk etc.
Expert in web technologies such as Java, Struts and MVC frameworks.
Strong organizational and communication skills
In depth understanding of industry best practices, Legacy browser challenges and emerging technologies will set this candidate apart
Ability to work with a group of developers, generating ideas, designing solutions and building them
The team works closely with our business stakeholders so effective coding skills, verbal and written communication is a necessity
Be able to work with stake holders to provide delivery schedule meeting customer satisfaction

Pay: $120,000 to $145,000 USD
Pay Period: Annual
